Please see the Neighborhood Council’s website at http://www.woodlandhillscouncil.org/elections.htm for more information on the election. Information about the Area 3 candidates will be posted on the website Oasis Event Center newsAs you know, the Woodland Hills/Warner Center Neighborhood Council held public hearings on whether to endorse the “concept” of the Oasis Event Center, a 10,000-seat arena proposed for Warner Center. The neighborhood council then considered and adopted the following resolution at its meeting on October 18th (edited): Whereas no specific site has been identified or secured in escrow and sufficient information, studies, reports and other mitigating details about key issues impacting the community in a concept of this magnitude have not been supplied by the developer; and Whereas an approval in “concept” by either the PLUM committee or the full Neighborhood Council would mistakenly signal City agencies that the community supports this venue; Be it resolved that the PLUM committee recommends a vote against the proposed concept of the Oasis by the full WHWC Neighborhood Council; and Be it further resolved that, because this project is only in “concept” form and there is no specific site, nor plans studies, reports or other critical information available, PLUM or the Neighborhood Council does NOT make any recommendation to refer this issue to any other Committee, Council office or City agency.
